[X Factor Review] Season 7 Semi Final
Given that it’s near the end of the semester, I am getting too busy to write a full review of X Factor performances. But given that it’s the semi-final week on X Factor tonight, there is no way that I could let it pass without writing anything. So to comprise, I have decided to embed my live tweets during the performances below. These were my unfiltered thoughts and opinions while watching the show. In a way, this may even be more interesting than writing a full review. ![]()
My prediction: Mary Byrne will be eliminated.
My favorite performance: Rebecca’s rendition of You Gotta Show Me Love and Amazing Grace. ( Will embed the videos once they become available on YouTube. Videos embedded below.)
[X Factor Review] Season 7 Live Show 7
First of all, sorry for not reviewing the show last week (and a general lack of updates over the past couple of days). I was having a really busy week. Anyways, now I am back and will continue my review of the most awesome talent show on TV – THE X FACTOR!
It’s The Beatles week on X Factor! (Aside: Did you know that one of the most heated edit wars on Wikipedia is over whether it should be “the Beatles” or “The Beatles”? I am using the latter.) After finally coming to the biggest online music store this week and completely dominating the chart, The Beatles are now on the biggest talent show as well. This is how you initiate a second wave of musical invasion!
[X Factor Review] Season 7 Results Show 5
Treyc Cohen has just been eliminated from X Factor. Was I surprised? Not really. Like I said before, Treyc would be the first contestant to be eliminated from the “Girls” category. And tonight’s results proved me right. My only gripe is: how could that talentless Wagner, who has been consistently giving heart-attacking, pain-inducing performances week after week, still be in the competition?!?! Me no understand.
[X Factor Review] Season 7 Live Show 5
This week’s X Factor review will be really short, since I just got back from an exhausting but extremely exciting trip to New York City (more about that in a later post). I will skip the comment for each performance and will instead only include a star rating and my prediction include a one-sentence comment for each performance.
[X Factor Review] Season 7 Results Show 4
We finally get the chance to say goodbye to Belle Amie. No surprise there. The true surprise is that Wagner – despite all the horrible performances he consistently put up in the last few weeks – has never found himself in the bottom three/two. How is that possible?

Rebecca continued to be wickedly good. One Direction jumped on the Twilight train. Aiden woke Michael Jackson up from the grave. And Cher finally stopped rapping. Themed “Halloween”, this week’s X Factor Live Show was probably the worst so far, but also contained the best performance of the entire season.
Given that the theme tonight is “Halloween”, I think the best performance the contestants could give is not one that involves exaggerated costume, elaborate stage design and gimmicky song choice, but one that is so dark, simple and emotional that it moves and haunts the audience at the same time. And two of the contestants successfully did that tonight. All the rest failed miserably.
[X Factor Review] Season 7 Results Show 3
So I guess my predictions last night were partially born out – John, whom I picked for elimination, was indeed eliminated. But neither of my other two picks was in danger of elimination tonight – partly because the producers have decided not to do the “double elimination” thing any more, which means from now on only one contestant will be eliminated each week.
That being said, there were still two big surprises during the results show tonight.
[X Factor Review] Season 7 Live Show 3
Matt redeemed himself. Rebecca became my new favorite. Aiden sucked big time. And my indifference towards One Direction turned into utter dislike. Of course, Cher just had to rap. Below is my review for this week’s X Factor live show.
The theme this week is “Guilty Pleasures”, which is really odd and ironic, because for many people (such as yours truly), X Factor is their guilty pleasure! Anyways, here comes my review.
[X Factor Review] Season 7 Results Show 2
I predicted last night that Diva Fever and Wagner would be eliminate from X Factor this week. The results are now in. Was I right?
[X Factor Review] Season 7 Live Show 2
The theme for this week’s live show is “Heroes” and two of the 14 acts will be eliminated. Below are my rating for each performance as well as my favorite act, my choice for the bottom three and my chosen acts for elimination.
